LEEDS CITY v. CASTLEFORD TOWN. (WEST RIDING SENIOR CUP - SEMI-FINAL.)

The semi-final round of the West Riding Senior Cup competition was played at Elland Road this afternoon, between Leeds City and Castleford Town. The rules of the competition provides that each team shall play its full League team; hence Leeds City's League team was almost at full strength, the exception being that Gillespie stood down for McLeod at centre forward, with Mulholland at inside right. With such a team as they had to represent them Leeds City anticipated an easy victory to qualify them for the final round with Bradford at Valley Parade.
